The Associated Builders and Contractors New Hampshire/Vermont is pleased to announce that Matt Wheaton, executive vice president of DEW Construction, has been named 2023 Chair of the Board.
Wheaton oversees estimating, business development, preconstruction and marketing at DEW Construction. His successful career in the construction industry began even before college as a carpenter’s apprentice, where he was first exposed to all facets of residential construction. He went on to pursue the field of architecture, graduating with honors and receiving a Master of Architecture degree from Norwich University. Wheaton has served on the ABC NH/VT board of directors since 2018.
“I am excited to lead the ABC NH/VT Chapter this year,” said Matt Wheaton, 2023 Board Chairman. “The ABC is a dynamic association which provides excellent resources and tremendous value to help develop individuals’ careers as well as afford opportunities for businesses to grow and find prosperity. I believe the construction industry is the best place to find a career that provides for a family and helps make our community a better place. As part of our 2023 initiatives, the ABC NH/VT will help raise awareness of the career opportunities there are in our trades.”
“On behalf of the ABC team, I want to welcome the 2023 Board, which consists of 19 individuals representing a diverse array of businesses across our construction industry,” said Josh Reap, president and CEO of ABC NH/VT. “Our chapter is unique in that we span two states, so it is important to have a board that reflects the diversity of our membership in terms of disciplines and geographic location."
Reap added, “Coming into 2023, the ABC NH/VT announces a record membership count of 270 companies employing thousands of skilled craft and professional employees. Being so unique is what makes the ABC NH/VT the leading association in the region.”
ABC NH/VT also welcomed new members Kayla Costa, assistant project manager at Fulcrum Associates, Daryl Luter, president at Fulcrum Associates, and Joshua Wise, president of LHR Fire Protection.
Kayla Costa, assistant project manager with Fulcrum Associates, has worked in the construction industry for more than 5 years. She currently serves as chair of the ABC Young Professionals Group. Costa has a bachelor's degree in construction management from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Daryl Luter, president of Fulcrum Associates, Inc., has held many positions within the industry in the last 13 years, including positions in general carpentry, site supervision, project management, and senior management. Luter has a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University where he collaborated with several community service organizations to help renew areas of the community through aesthetic downtown improvements and collaborative projects engaging the youth of the City by developing and overseeing large scale murals.
Joshua Wise, president of LHR Fire Protection, worked for more than 16 years in fire protection services before founding LHR Fire, including 10 years as a firefighter. Wise has a degree in fire science and is a certified NH State Inspector and he is NH City/State licensed. Outside of work, Wise is a certified EMT, he volunteers as youth leader with his church, and enjoys spending time with his family.
