scaffold competent person

Scaffold Competent Person Level Course

This course will supplement and clarify the requirements set forth in the OSHA standards 1926 subpart L. The content of this course will teach students how to recognize hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards.

This training includes the following subjects:

  • The nature of any electrical hazards, fall hazards, and falling object hazards in the work area.
  • Correct procedures for dealing with electrical hazards and for erecting, maintaining, and disassembling the fall protection systems and falling object protection systems being used.
  • The proper use of scaffold, and the proper handling of materials on the scaffold.
  • The maximum intended load and the load-carrying capacities of the scaffolds used.

It is important to note that this course is a competent level course and does not necessarily deem the individual taking this course a competent person. The individual’s employer is the only one that can deem them a competent person based on their knowledge and experience working with scaffold systems.

This class can be taught in English or Spanish
