Each year our members donate a variety of classroom supplies to help support our education and training opportunities. This year we are expanding the offer of “in-kind” sponsorships for our Future Leaders in Construction (FLiC) program. 

The U.S. Department of Labor announced the launch of a campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of registered apprenticeships, and increase participation by business leaders and job seekers nationwide.

October is Careers in Construction Month, and this year, ABC National wants to recognize the people who make up our diverse workforce. We know everyone has a unique story that brought them to a career in construction, and we want to share them!

Gerry Perron will be presented with the New Hampshire Construction Industry Ethics Award at the ABC NH/VT annual Beer, Builders & BBQ event on September 24. Tickets for the event are still available and may be purchased online. 

Our Future Leaders in Construction (FLiC) program recognizes that the future of your company and the construction industry is dependent on effective leadership.

The ACE Mentor Program of New Hampshire is an after-school program designed to engage, excite, and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering. The Denron Plumbing and HVAC Trade Scholarship is awarded to one graduating senior who exhibits exceptional engagement in each year’s program in addition to submitting a very well written essay and application. The ACE Mentor Program of New Hampshire announced that Winnacunnet High School Student, Ashleigh Trimarco, was selected to receive the 2020 Denron Plumbing and HVAC Trade Scholarship.

NCCER is looking for Subject Matter Experts (SME) with an understanding of the Superintendent role to provide feedback on draft materials for a new Superintendent Education Program.

The Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT Chapter’s Young Professionals Group (ABC YPG) has donated $1,000 in honor of Tim Barton to MY TURN, a Manchester youth services organization focused on serving the “forgotten half”.

This year it is free to enter the Excellence Awards! Participants will be limited to three projects each and entries will be vetted by a panel of judges like always. Finalists will be notified by September 4 that they have won an award; however, the big reveal of “Excellence” or “Merit” and “Chairman’s Award” will be announced on the live-streamed event on October 22.  The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7.

The U.S. DOL announced $4.1 million in grants available to community organizations to recruit, mentor, train and retain more women in quality apprenticeship programs, and to help those women pursue successful careers in manufacturing, infrastructure, cybersecurity, healthcare and other industries.
