The Associated Builders and Contractors of NH/VT hosted a graduation BBQ on Thursday, June 10 to celebrate the 2021 Construction Safety Awards recipients and graduates of the Future Leaders in Construction and Construction Supervision Certificate programs.

New Hampshire’s first ever Construction Virtual Career Fair was held last week in response to the continued industry growth and workforce demands in construction and the building trades. The event was offered in partnership between Associated Builders & Contractors of NH/VT, I Build NH, and New Hampshire Employment Security.

The Associated Builders and Contractors of NH/VT, in partnership with law firm Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson has expanded their Basic Construction Law program to allow greater flexibility for interested individuals.

Manchester Grows is a 100% volunteer run, community program. They coordinate volunteers at five community gardens in the Manchester, NH area as well as a production garden for the NH Food Bank providing nutritional, locally sourced healthy foods for anyone in the community. The operation also helps provide delicious fruits and vegetables for local restaurants.

I Build NH, Associated Builders & Contractors of NH/VT, and New Hampshire Employment Security are teaming up to offer the first ever virtual construction job fair on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 

The annual Safety Awards recognize commendable safety performance of individual firms. The awards are intended to convey ABC’s strong support of safety performance in full recognition of the fact that each firm has the responsibility for execution of safety, to ensure an overall safe workplace. 

Associated Builders and Contractors New Hampshire/Vermont Chapter (ABC), a leader in the construction industry and workforce development, has announced the promotion of Jennifer Landon to Vice President of Education & Workforce Development. Landon has been with the ABC since 2017, previously holding the position of Director of Education and Workforce Development.

The right of a worker to form, join, participate in, or financially support a union is a fundamental right that should never be infringed upon. The same goes for a worker who decides to make a different choice. The right to exercise such a choice is the essence of economic freedom. Right-To-Work protects both rights.

Jes Zurell, Marketing Manager with the The H. L. Turner Group, came from a construction family with both of her parents worked in the industry. She says, "My dad was a structural engineer and my mom managed an architect's office. My current job at The H. L. Turner Group allows me to use my skills as a writer and marketer in an environment that feels like home."

Mimi Thomas loves the fast pace of the construction industry. She wears all the hats in her role as Office Administrator at NorthPoint Construction Management and has learned a lot as a result. She really enjoys the company’s strong presence in the community, especially as it relates to children. She’s proud of the support they’ve provided to The Boys and Girls Club of Nashua and Catie's Closet.
